One Noodle...

Jalan-jalan cari makan...saturday noon...where to get something special? Hence, my frens and I made a visit to PJ SS2. From there, we can see lots of restaurants...serving types of cuisine. We decided to check around and we ended in front of tis restaurant...One Noodle. Hmmm...One Noodle? Serving one type of noodle? But, d poster in front is promoting the dim sums. It stated 50% for dim sums on mon till sat(till 6pm) and 30% on public holidays and sun(till 6pm oso). Guessed what? Its a public holiday...so we can only enjoy 30% off...huhuhu...

Nevermind bout the dim sums...lets check out the noodle. The service in here is nice. There are 3 types of menu. One for beverages, one for dim sums and one for main courses and snacks. So, we start from the main courses...ra mien...is the speciality...from the menu, we can see types of ra mien. They have soup and dry ra mien and etc...

I've ordered a shrimp wanton ra mien and my fren ordered yin yong wanton ra mien. The soup is not hot but temparate. However, u all must try the wanton. The shrimp is very fresh...the biting feeling is indescriptable. The noodle...much nicer than Dragon-i.

Yin Yong Wanton Ra Mien
RM 7.80

Shrimp Wanton Ra Mien
RM 8.80

Well, since we are here...lets have a look in the dim sums menu. The price of the dim sums quite expensive...start from RM 6...hence, we just ordered the Shanghai Siu Long Pau. It cost us RM 8(b4 30% off). This one lost to Dragon-i...hahaha...Dragon -i's much bigger and the texture is nicer.

If you are looking for a nice ra mien, why not have a try at One Noodle. For dim sums, i suggest to try it during promotion period. Coz there are lots of nicer dim sums out there. So, why pay more for an ok quality...

Black Canyon Restaurant

Had my lunch at Restoran Black Canyon Alamanda Putrajaya today.

They have 2 menu.
One is for Drinks(coffee), one is for Food

I just simply captured the picture from the menu as i saw the glass was so cute..
What should i called it? Boot glass?

Variety of Drinks

Set Meal : Canyon Set A
Rm9.90++
(include watermelon juice)

Canyon Set B
Rm12.95++
(include watermelon juice + mini tomyam)

Special Deals
Rm14.90++
(include single scoop ice-cream+mini tomyam)

Family Set A
Rm24.90++ for 2 persons

Family Set C
Rm39.90 for 4 persons

Black Canyon Coffee
A drink from paradise..available on Earth

Black Canyon Coffee Frost
around Rm9++( forgot the actual price)

Ice Cappuccino
around Rm8++ ( not sure bout the price as well)

Salted Firsh Fried Rice

Fusilli Spicy Chicken TomYam Soup

I ordered Fusilli Spicy Chicken Tomyam Soup set. It came along with watermelon juice.
The tomayam is nice as it is spicy that i believe everyone can accept as the tomyam itself is really taste like tomyam unlike some shop which served tomyam which you can easily know that it is cook from tomyam powder. Besides that, watermelon juice is pure juice from watermelon. It is fresh.
They have outlet in Subang, The Summit USJ, Center Point Bandar Utama, Jusco Taman Maluri , Jusco Kinta City, Seberang Point City Shopping Center and of course Alamanda Putrajaya.

Aunty Lan Restaurant

Restaurant Aunty Lan is a homemade Noodles restaurant located in Sg Chua, Kajang. It is exactly opposite the TLC(actually i am not sure about the name) Fitness Center. If you are still not sure about the location, another hint is that it is at the other side of Sg Chua Old Town. Meaning that if you are driving from Kajang, it is at the left turn of the traffic light near Old Town. If you are from Bangi, it is at the right turn on the traffic light.

Restaurant Aunty Lan 兰姐私房面

Menu

Business Hour

Fresh Prawn Fried with Egg Dry noodle~Rm5.90
Set Meal: RM10.90 include drinks and one slice of cheese cake

Fresh Prwan Fried with Egg Noodles Soup~Rm5.90
Set Meal: Rm10.90

Noodles~扁面条

Deep Fried Beijing Dumpling
Rm1.20 for each
5 in a plate only Rm5.00

Personally, i would recommend the egg with prawn and the dumpling. It was so delicious as there were all vege and prawn. The dumpling is also serve in soup and the price is same with the fried one.
This shop actually served variety of noodles including 扁面条,细面条,米粉。。You can have tomyam noodles, soup noodles, dry noodles and whatever noodles that you just named it. It also serve rice like chicken rice. Chop too like pork chop, chicken rice chop...Another good news is that they have 鱼肉米粉 instead of 鱼头米粉. Well, i never try but a friend of mine ordered and said that the food was not bad...
By the way, this shop sell cheese cake too~Durian cheese cake, Lemon cheese cake, Dragon fruit cheese cake and...But somehow there are only few types of cheese cake to choose at the counter instead of all the gambar-gambar that we can see on the menu...
Besides that, if you dine in after 3pm, there will be free of drinks to you...Most of the food price are less than Rm10. So it is good to have a try at Aunty Lan Homemade Noodles shop

Well, for this shop i would give a thumb up to the food and the environment.

U cafe, Sungei Wang

There are many many restaurant in Sungei Wang. That day, I randomly got into this cafe. The environment there seems quite good. However, when I got the food, I was so dissaponted by it. The serving is just not worth for its price.

The Marryland Chicken is just like a fried Chicken with Chili sauce.

The Chicken boxing nothing special too. Just a normal fried chicken with chili sauce and fruits salad served in a piece of keropok.

Ridiculuos right?

And the most surprising one is......
It's price for this two serving with one drinks cost us around RM60++ which is also under its promotion for a set meal and a side dish!!!!

Place: Sungei Wang  ground Floor near the Main Entrance

Tenji's Japanese Buffet

Last week, I went Tenji with my fellow coursemate....
Well, it is a little bit dissapointed me. I read from some blogs and heard from some people, most of them commented Tenji as better than Jagoya. In fact, it is not true!!!! Maybe I put too high expectation from Tenji and that's why I feel like got cheated. Anyway, luckily it is under promotion, the price that I paid still can be considered OK lol...

The choices of food in Tenji is very little.... 50% lesser than the choices of food in Jagoya... Well, the normal price for this two buffet restaurant got no much different. Although Jagoya is slightly more expensive than Tenji in around RM10++, but I prefer to pay more to get a higher quality and more choices of food.

From upper left: Yoi Ping, Phoon, Chris, Loke, Geok Chin, Violet, Me, Chloe and Amy

In Tenji, I can hardly grab any food that can satisfied me. There best food in Tenji are: cake(espcially Green Tea roll and Apple chese cake), Haegan Dazz and Chinese herbal soup!!!

For the rest of the food, they taste So So only...

So, if you wanna eat Japanese Buffet, my recommendation would be Jagoya.... Tenji is not that good and ideal place to enjoy food other than its dessert... Frankly say, the only thing that can make Tenji better than Jagoya is its cake... Especially Apple Cheese Cake!!! Yummy yummy!

However, would you like to spend RM88++ (or during promotion period RM48.10 including tax) for nice soup and cake? *.^

If u really wanna try some nice chinese herbal soup, i would recommend you to go for Low Yat Plaza's Ah Yip leng tong at the Ground floor there...

If u wanna try some nice cake, Secret Recipe would be a better choice!!!!
=P

Yankies Hut~ U sucks!!

No offence to the previous author - Chris on his entry on Yankies Hut Ikan Bakar. But i seriously have to comment on the food and everything provided in Yankies Hut. I BEG TO DIFFER!! I seriously can cook much better and bakar better fish that they did. At least, I still know where to get fresher fish to serve people. I never been to a dining place which can be worse than what I just went.

First of all, as I mentioned earlier, the fish sucks!! We ordered 1 Ikan Kerapu and 1 Ikan Pari. The Ikan Keparu still consider as edible since it was being deep fried but the Ikan Pari which was being bakar taste horribly. The fish itself already stinks like rotten fish and the texture (I lost words in describing). What I can say is just worse than terrible.

Besides the fishes, we ordered kangkung belacan but seems like the kitchen had most probably ran out of belacan or chillies. Its tasteless. Fried Sotong tasteless but luckily they provided us with some ketchup and causes the fried sotong still at least taste like Ketchup. The drinks, I guess they have no stock on nescafe either cause I ordered a big jug of nescafe and I ended up have to put in the Baskin Robbin's Espresso and Creme ice cream to flavour my nescafe. The only food which tastes normal would be the white rice. So if you just wish to have white rice as meal, do op for Yankies Hut.

Left the part of food served aside, the environment was designed to be like a village style BUT Im not sure if Its due to I were born and brought up in a city, I never really tried having a whole family of cats (which made up of 5/6 of them) sitting and starring at me hungrily while im eating the fish as if they'll be jumping up and grab whatever Im having. This really freaks me badly.

On the service part, its again sucks. The waiters are all day-dreaming and working like wandering ghost. The entire restaurant was empty when we were there yet it takes them forever to serve and approach us. The waiter can even holds his phone while taking order and the phone was keep on ringing. -.-!!

People, try guess how much I've spent for such terrible meal?? It costs us RM78.40 for this terrible meal. RM 20 for the rotten Ikan Pari, RM30 for the not fresh but luckily deep fried Ikan Kerapu. We seriously feel like being robbed in a pirate ship, not by Johnny Depp (at least he's good looking) but by the scary Davy Jones. HUH!!~

And before Im ending the entry, 2 of my friends is having diarrhea NOW!!~ So people, if you feel like cleansing your stomach after a long period of constipation, kindly visit Yankies Hut @ Kajang (Address refer back to the previous entry named "Yankies Hut Ikan Bakar"

Jogoya Japanese Buffet (Starhill Gallery)

Jogoya is one of the well-known buffet in town. Actually, Jogoya origin from Taiwan. The price are range from RM 68 till RM 88 per person(These haven't include tax and service charge). Well, it is situated in the Starhill Gallery( very high- class). Normally, u can hear your own footsteps when you are inside the gallery (scary?) Yet, at the relish floor of the Gallery, you can see lots of people queueing up in from of the restaurant (during promotions). The interior of the restaurant is nice and it can fit for around 500 people.

Well, lets see the food stations in the restaurant. There are about 15 food stations. You can see all the chefs doing their job in the food stations (especially those who are preparing sahsimi, raw oysters and suhsi).

Japanese Food Station

Dim Sum and Soup Station

Teppanyaki Station

We can't just look at the food...we have to try it ( yes! eating time) So, first, I tried the soup first. There are 3 types of soup on that day...sweet corn with herbal, hi-fibre apple with herbal and the VIP's soup( no name written on the station). Guess what, I tried all the 3 soups and the winner is hi-fibre apple with herbal. Yum..yum...

VIP soup( only for VIP member)

My next stop will be the Italian food station. There is a cheese baked lobster for the VIP member. Since we have the membership, why not grab the lobster. Dun worry, you dun need to stand there till the chef cook it. Just put the table number on that bowl, they will deliver to you. There are spagetti, croissant and creamy soup too...Yes, for those who love Italian food, dun miss the chance. I'll give a thumb up for Italian food...

Cheese Baked Lobster

So, next will be the oysters...Yummy, yummy....The raw oysters are the best among others buffet restaurants. It's very fresh and you'll definitely feel tempted on it. I could have 5 of it in a go (actually, i'm not into raw food). But, the freshness make me love it. Then, I've took some sahsimi and suhsi from the station. Yet, i like more the sahsimi at Coffee Terrace at Genting.

Sahsimi and suhsi

Next, i randomly pick up the food in other stations. The dim sum is quite ok but if compare to those dim sum restaurants, hehe...I'll definitely get the dim sums from the dim sum restaurant. There are shark fin soup (tasted different from those chinese restaurant), fried vegetables, grill lamb chop, cheese baked oyster(i prefer the raw one), and lots more.

Shark Fin Soup

Grill Lamb Chop

Cheese Baked Oyster

Jogoya also provide variety of drinks for its customer. It range from fruit juices, coconut, tea (wu long, pu er, green tea and etc), coffee and to wine, V.O.S.P, and cocktail. I've pick up red wine to go together with Italian food and at the end a teapot of pu-er to cleanse the oily food I've consumed(tips for healty diet).

Red and white wine

Last but not least, the dessert. There are cookies, cakes, pudings, ice-creams (Haagan-Daz) and fruits. I've tried some of the cookies (puke, puke, puke) coz its tasteless. Some of the cakes are nice especially the bluberry cheese cake. Guess what, Jogoya even have a special dessert for VIP member (its made from durian). Its very nice for those who love durians...

Tasteless cookies

Durian Dessert

Last, definitely the ice-creams...Hurray!!! Haagan-Daz...yum...yum...it never fail us. No matter how full am I, this is a must for me. Coz i'm a ice-cream lover especially for Haagan-Daz...haha...
After 2 and 1/2 hour of eating, finally came the closing event which was a walk back from Starhill to Sg. Wang Plaza. Good for digestion and diet too...

Jogoya is still the best option I have in town. Especially during promotions, is a must for me to visit there. Thumbs up for Jogoya.

The Ship in Jalan Sultan Ismail

The Ship had always branded themselves as "the best steak in town". I am not a beef eater and if you don't eat beef, you don't know steak so i avoided steak during this visit. Maybe someone else will do one on steak here.

The Drinks

We ordered a coffee and some concoction which i forgot what it is called. The coffee was just like any coffee you can get from places like this but the other drink was great! But that came witha price tag of RM 8.00

Yup, the right hand side ones cost you Rm8

The Foods

XY ordered a french sounding chicken that is cooked with red wine while i ordered a "normal" sounding chicken called the Black Pepper Chicken. While waiting, we were served bread and butter as appetizer.

This thing cost RM 20.90

This meanwhile, also the same price :p

I always wonder why bread is appetizing. Perhaps i am just not a European.

Anyway, before i managed to savor my bread, the main course came. Needless to say, that was fast and i was hoping that they do not just reheat those foods.

But the foods were good. They are worth every cents you pay for it. The taste was just right with the right portion for each of them.

Then we got another plate of Yong Chow Fried Rice, not because we were still hungry but rather to taste it. I mean, eating Yong Chow Fried Rice in the Ship?

The Yong Chow Fried Rice

I remember when i wrote about Ah Koong Eating House, i mentioned that if you were to provide for a food that can be easily obtained at half the price, make sure you are special. Now, you can get a Yong Chow Fried Rice easily for RM 5 but The Ship charged RM 13.90. So what you get for more than doubling the price?

Plenty. While the taste might be a bit westernized, the quality is there. You get to eat a nice YC Fried Rice. Plus, there are more than half a dozen of large size prowns in there. Imagine how mush the normal Chinese "big wok" gonna charge you for that.

What else, oh yea, you get impeccable service for the price you paid plus the fantastic ambience.

The Dessert

We ordered a banana split to be shared. It consist of three scoop of ice cream together with some fresh fruits and of course, a banana that is split in the middle. It was as good but nothing really special.

Look at that Banana Split!

Impeccable Service

The first thing we realised upon stepping our foot into The Ship was that almost all the service staff were foreigners. The only remotely Malaysian looking staff were the captain (i think, or maybe he is the vice captain?) who looked more like a blur Hongkie than a Malaysian Chinese.

However, the service they rendered were fantastic. They were prompt and efficient, though sometime they might not catch you. However, they were well trained and you can be rest assured of their capability. In fact, when we had our YC Fried Rice served, they asked if we were sharing it and gave us two sets of cutlery. The same goes to our Banana Split, they gave us two spoons.

And you won't have to look at their "i-had-a-bad-day" faces as they won't show you any. I just had many fair share of experience even when i am paying them so much for those foods and The Ship is definitely not one of them.

The Ambience

The Ship was designed to be like a restaurant in an old ship. Most of the interior material was made from wood. You get to see some nice painting and some knots that normally a ship would need to tie.

The ambience was great. It is worth the money you spend on the food.

We were Satisfied

Who is not after a hungry stomach is filled with delicious food?

Verdict : Go dine in The Ship!

Happy Beans Cafe

Happy Beans Cafe is situated in USJ 10, commonly known as Taipan. Now this is a freaking happening place and there are a lots of boutiques and eateries. And obviously, i am not talking about clothes here so............

There are a wide range of tao foo fa's and ABC's in Happy Beans. The last time we went after the two girls gone shopping (poor me), Cindy and i shared a Jumbo Mango Ice while Bee got a traditional tao foo fa.

The mango ice was filled with mango, ice and milk and some sweet substances. It is no doubt tasty but it cost RM 9.00 and it is and where near jumbo. Perhaps jumb is only a name not a description

The ambience was fine. There are many funny posters to keep your eyes occupied and it is definitely a place to sit down and have a nice long chat while keeping your stomach filled with sugar.

The service there was decent though you would not find any handsome guy or pretty girl there (at least that day i don't) though not that that is important. As long as the service is good, i don't care how their features were created by God.

All in all, Happy Beans is a nice place though Bee almost fell down walking down the stairs outside the shop. We attribute this to Bee own carelessness and it had nothing to do with Happy Beans, except maybe it make her a few grammes heavier. Talking about diet huh?

how to go there?

Overall rating : go grab an ice, forget the price!

Victoria Station @ PJ

Went to Victoria Station @ PJ (near PJ Hilton) and ordered 1 spicy oxtail soup, 1/2 dozen of oysters, fresh lobsters that weights 800grammes and 1 Sirloin Steak which served with lightly salted butter on breads and salads.

I find the oxtail soup taste quite okay but this is the first oxtail soup I had and I'm not really into that perhaps I should not be making any comment here. However, the oysters are seriously not fresh. The way it served look nice but its really not fresh. If you wish to try the fresh one, I would suggest you to visit Jagoya which located at Starhill.
The Sirloin Steak was nice. Sirloin steak is a steak cut from the hip. Hence, it tends to be less tough and resulting in a higher price tag. We want in to be in medium which has to be grilled in 57.2 degree celcius only which results in the middle of the steak is hot and red with pink surrounding the center but the outside is gray-brown.The dish I love most is the fresh lobster. The manager allowed us to choose the lobster on our own and priced it with the weighting. The one that we had is moderate and it is around 800grammes. I forgotten how much it costs for a gramme but it is around RM150++ for 800grammes. It was served with half cheese and half BBQ sauce. A cheese lover like me will definitely prefer the cheese part more.

Ipoh?? Dim SUM!!!

I used to tell my parent who visited KL that KL have no breakfast coz I seriously feel that KL have no nice spot for breakfast. However, when im back to Ipoh, having breakfast is like a compulsory activity. The famous breakfast we'll have in Ipoh is DIMSUM. (=

Ipoh have lots and lots of dimsum outlet and there are two that I favoured BUT those outlet requires you to wake up so so so early and go line up just to get a seat there. Sigh.Sumehow, i'll come up with entry regarding these two outlets soon.

The other day, I went to this place name Kao Lee at Ipoh Garden (near Hospital Fatimah) and at the back of Shell petrol station. The dimsum served taste just fair BUT is not up to the standard of dimsum that I usually have from my favourite outlets. The selling point of Kao Lee is the vast varieties of food sold. From dimsum to satay to japanese udon, you have a real wide selection of food there. The price is fair as usually dimsum does quite costy. The restaurant is situated at the Ipoh Garden is how the place look like:These are some of the dimsum we had ordered:

Fish & Co. (part 2) -1Utama

Chloe had introduced this Fish & Co in Sabah in very early post. In Peninsular MaLaysia, there is one Fish & Co franchise situated at 1 Utama, Damansara.

The traditional Fish & Chips from Fish & Co. is nice. The fish is fresh, the meat is juicy. By eating together with its tar tar sauce, PERFECT!!!!

Fish & Chips - RM 9.90

For those spaghetti lover, There are a few choices of spaghetti provided here. As this shop is specialised in fish and seafood, (how do I know? lol... please la, the name of the shop is Fish & Co. right? of course must try something from the sea mar...) I choose to try Seafood spaghetthi.

Seafood XXXXXXX Spaghetti ( Can't remember its full name lar, too long already!!!) - RM14.90

How does it taste? Well, I would like to say that the first bite causes me to reject it. Why? Maybe because of the herbs. the second bite, I started to have a good impression on it. The third bite, Oh no... I fall in love eith it without knowing it....! =P

Overall, the spaghetti is very unique and taste good!!! Worth to try... The only thing that make me feel a little bit dissapointed is the spaghetti is overcook.

The price of the drink is between RM4-RM10. In order to save money, better add RM 7.50 to the main course to get a soup of the day and a drink with limited choices.

The name is something xx Coke xx (Arr, dunno the name lar...)
Taste? Very odd.... Like plum, instead, its name sounds like Coke...

The soup of the day.... Very creamy.. Yummy! Yummy!!!!

There is also another Fish specialized shop called Manhattan Fish Market. Well, I had never tried Fish Market' meal before. However, I believe Fish & Co is a better choice because you will never smell any heavy fishy smell. Yes, it's true... Whenever I passed by Fish Market when shopping in a shopping mall, the bad fishy smell is all over the shop..... It make me feel so sick om it..

Overall, Fish & Co is nice!!!

J.Co Doughnut

I still remember the first time when I saw many people at KL Sentral holding a big plastic bag with a big box in orange yellowish colour like this>>>>>

I wonder what is that until the first time I saw many people queuing up at a doughnut shop named J. Co.

J. Co and Big apple are two very well known doughnut specialized shop in Malaysia. Well, we have another one, Dunkin Doughnut since many years ago. Anyway, I would just like to ignore it as its standard is not up to level as compared to these two doughnut shops. (It's doughnut is very very sucks la... If I am the one who is going to give marks, I will give them 1/5!! Why 1??? Well, their packaging is pretty and more attractive... =P Opps, sorry...)

However, one thing that i would like to clarified here is Dunking Doughnut had done a very good job in coming out a new variety of square fiber doughnuts. It's vanilla fiber doughnut is very nice!!!! ( The only one..... -.-")

Well, back to J.Co. As I know, J. Co have two branches in Malaysia which are one situated at Pavillion, and the another one at Sunway Pyramid near the Sunway Lagoon Entrance or the carpark entrance for the Lower Ground.

J. Co have altogether 26 varieties of donoughnut. Here is 12 of it. Most of the doughnut is very sweet. If you are a sweet toe or you do love sweet sweet snacks, doughnut is a good choice! If u love doughnut but don't wanna try sweet one, pick doughnuts like the chessy doughnut or the mango one which taste a little bit sour.

Curious about the price?
1 - RM2.20
1/2 dozen - RM 12.00
1 dozen - RM 20.00
2 dozen - RM 34.50

Meaning, the more you buy, the more cheaper the doughnut~!
*.^

J. Co baby doughnut (without the Happy Birthdays' candles!!!)
24 baby doughnuts with 12 fixed flavours
RM 17.50

If you are one of the 'Wai Sek People' (like me, =P) ~ meaning who wanna try many many different flavours for 1 bite, this baby doughnut is just suits you!!

For your information, J. Co's doughnut is also a halal food. So, our Muslim friends can also have a try!! What justified me??? See the halal logo on the box??

J. Co vs. Big Apple>>>>

I found that J. Co's cheesy doughnut is not that nice as compared to Big Apple's Cheeses doughnut(i can't remember the actual name.. sorry). Besides, Big Apple's durian durian doughnut is marvelous!!! I just can't forget it's taste... The fresh durian is just dissolve in the mouth... Oh, nice!!!

Hence, overall, J. Co's doughnut is nice!!!!! ( my rate for J. Co >>>> 5/5)
However, Big Apple is best in Cheesy and Durian durian ( My rate for Big Apple is 5/5 but, full marks and bonus for Chessy and durian durian~ =P) !!! Other than this, Big Apple is more easier to get as compared to J Co where whenever u saw any Jusco departmental store, there is the BIG Apple.

People always used to said, things that harder to get is more precious.
Now, Big Apple branches is just anywhere.
But, J. Co have only 2 branches in Malaysia.
*.^ ( What do you think???)

Rating:
J. Co >>> 5/5
Big Apple >>> 5/5 ( ++ bonus for Durian durian and chessy..!!!)
Dunkin Doughnut >>> 1/5 ( for packaging and bonus for brand new vanilla fiber flavour!!!)

HaJi Samuri Kajang Satay

The most famous food in Kajang is......>>>>>>

teng teng teng teng

HaJi Samuri Kajang Satay!!!!!!

I went there a few times already. However, it's taste is not that nice as compared to the first time i dine-in. It's satay sometimes still raw and sometimes burnt like eating charcoal. However, when i tried once again yesterday, it tasted good and it's size is bigger than before. I wonder why.. Maybe because today is Prophet Birthday... =P

The darker one is Mutton Satay (RM0.90/stick),
The lighter one is Chicken Satay(RM0.60/stick).

It's sos is quite nice. They put a lot of nuts in. Usually, they serve a big bowl of sos to the customers and a small bowl will be given to each of the customer to fill in the sos.

Not spicy enough??? Add this >>>

Last but not least,

How can eat satay without nasi impit and timun???
RM1.20/plate

Kajang Satay Haji Samuri is the most famous one in Kajang although you can see everywhere in Kajang selling Satay. It's restaurant is situated at kajang town. The building is big, double storeys, wit smoking area and non-smoking area and even provided air-conditioner area without extra chages. The whole restaurant is decorated with some of the antique apparatus such as grandma time's oil lamp, charcoal iron an etc...

The restaurant is very sistematic as they had divided all the staffs into different departments such as, satay dept, drinks dept and etc. Just like a factory. It's amazing!!!!

If u drop by Kajang, can have a try here... Worth to try.

Food: 3/5
Overall: 3/5

Fun OK Cafe 《返屋企》

This cafe is located at Connaught, Cheras. Just exactly the night market road.
It's name >>> Fun OK means HOME in Mandarin 《返屋企》

The deco of the cafe is amazing.
Basically, it wanna let the customer to have the feeling like going home when they stay at this cafe.

Heard that the staff there dressed in pajamas while serving food.
But, i can't see any pajama waiter or waitress there.
Anyway, the deco of the cafe is already enough to catch my eye.

The whole cafe is just made up of many many different concepts.

Washing machine as table??????!!!!

The waiter and waitress there are nice. Their menu also very cute. The name of some of the servings is rather odd and special.
French fries 一条条 Mixed and Match 一大堆
etc....

Wat Tan Ho RM 8.50++

FUN OK Fried Rice RM 8.50++

Yummy! Yummy!!!

Chicken Chop
RM13/16++

And the drinks....

Mango Yogurt RM 6.50

The yogurt drinks is ok, but lack of some yogurt taste, more likely a milk shake.
Mango flovour and longan flavor is nice.
But, don't try passion fruit or peppermint. Taste like cough syrup and flu syrup.

I can't remember the name of this drinks.
It's taste is just nothing special although they recommend this drink.

This place is suitable for buddy, friends who wanna stay up for drinks and chit chat.
Besides, some games such as scrabble, chest, play cards are provided.
Highly recommend for those who wanna grab some drinks and have some girl's talk or guy's talk!!!!

My rating as follow,

Food: 3/5
Drinks: 3/5
Environment @ Deco: 5/5

Foods Around Kajang-UKM

This, cut and pate from Falling Leaves, my blog..Lazy mar...Most important is the food right?

I had wanted to do this for a long time. To compile a list of restaurants and foods around Kajang-Bangi area for the benefits of UKM students and Kajang-Bangi folks. First of all, places you should go

1) Chat Hei (literally translated as 7 Happiness)
CH is one of the places where you can bring anyone important there without feeling embarrassed in Kajang. Say, if you wanted to bring a new date, you won't go too wrong here. This tiny little restaurant is located near the Kajang Pasar, across the river/huge drain that always flood and you can lamost missed it if you don't look well.

see how tiny is the shop?

The food here are accetablely good. The price is on the range of RM 10 - RM 20 so even if you are in a tight budget, you can always get your date to eat here.

my favorite : zha zheong ramen

The picture you see above is a dry ramen called zha zheong ramen. The combination of sauce and ramen is tuned nicely, though i would say the flavoring is a bit over.

chicken chop rice anyone?

Next is the chicken chop rice. As you can see, the chop is very tiny but is good enough for a small appetite person, but not me. The frying is just nice, you won't have burnt or raw meat there, and that itself is an achievement. The dipping sauce is mixed in the right way to complement the light flavor of the fried chop. And for all that, you also get a fried rice wrapped in egg. I almost say omellette but no, it is not. So, now you are full.

2) 21st Century Cafe

This cafe is located at the middle of the hill at Bukit Mewah. The food here are slightly on the high side at RM20 onwards. However, this is compensated with fantastic night view and good food. Certainly a place for lovers.

Amongst the notable menu here is the cheese steamboat. But if you are thinking of a big pot of melted cheese slowly boiling your foods to cook, you are wrong. Apparently, you are to dip your fully cooked and flavored food into a small pot of melted cheese for added flavor. Now that is also good enough right?

cut out from here...
dip inside here

All in all, this is a fantastic place to be in. Well worth the money you pay.

3) Wong's Kitchen Shabu Shabu

Located at Sungai Chua, rumour has it that it had already closed down. Now i am sad because the condition here is great, you can really enjoy your steambot unlike the craze now of streambot buffet where you actually have to eat like you have never eaten before and grab foods like a beggar in a charity free foods drive.

who can say no to this cute pot?

I love it here because the herbal soup base is fantastic. With aircond, you can eat here slowly and tasting your food like you should, not gobling up everything like a hungry beggar.
this was the promotional set for 4 during their one year anni'

The pricing here is based on sets and ala carte. One normal set cost you RM 12.90 ++ while the chicken set that i normally take cost me RM 16.90 ++..
this dessert is surprisingly good!!

Oh, how i miss this place..Auntie Wong, reopen this place please?

4) Noddle Station, Metro Point

Next is this Noddle Station at Metro Point. All types of noddles you normally find around are found here, if you don't mind paying extra, that is. The pricing here is RM 10 onwards.

The plus point in this restaurant is that the mee are in-house and boiled to perfection. You won't get too soft a mee or too raw. And the soup base is just nice and had its own distinction to it.

recommended - but i forgot the name =p think it is some har mee after adding extra wan ton
and this is some clear soup mee, after adding extra mee

can you believe this is green tea?

Another thing that i think is most commendable about this restaurant is, the pictures you see in the menu is the one you will really get when it comes out of the kitchen. How about that for a change?

I think that's all folks for part 1. There will be more to come in the near future.
